Applications are now being accepted for volunteer spring docents at the Cabrillo Marine Aquarium. Volunteers will be trained as docents providing school children with information about the ocean and conducting related activities on Cabrillo Beach and adjacent grass areas. Qualifications include a desire to learn about marine animals and the ocean environment and an interest in children. Docents are asked to commit to work one morning per week from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., Tuesday through Friday, April 6 through June 11. Training sessions will be conducted on Monday, March 15 and Monday, March 22 from 9 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

All volunteers are registered with the City of Los Angeles. Volunteers 15 years and older are subject to background check and fingerprinting.

Cabrillo Marine Aquarium is located at 3720 Stephen White Drive in San Pedro and is a facility of the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks.
