Los Angeles County Scuba has announced their 57th Underwater Instructor’s Certification Course (UICC) will begin in January 2010. L.A. County has been training scuba instructors since 1954 in the most comprehensive, thorough and rigorous program in the scuba diving industry.
L.A. County Scuba has embarked on new programs for the 21st century with the addition of NAUI (National Association of Underwater Instructors) instructor certification to the already prestigious L.A. County Instructor’s certification upon completion of the course.
UICC 57 takes place over 15 weekends and includes pool and open water training sessions, as well as classroom lectures given by world-renowned experts in the diving industry on a variety of topics. Excursions include a training and lecture weekend at the distinguished Scripps Institute of San Diego, diving on Catalina Island both at the Casino Point Underwater Park and separately on a dive boat trip to other dive sites around the island. Dives will also be made at a number of local Southern California sites.
The program is offered once yearly, and graduates are widely acknowledged to be among the most qualified and skilled scuba instructors anywhere in the industry and the world.
