FRIENDS of Cabrillo Marine Aquarium (FCMA) will host the annual Grand Grunion Gala on Saturday evening, May 16, 2009 at Cabrillo Marine Aquarium (CMA), located at 3720 Stephen M. White Drive, San Pedro, CA. More than 450 guests including business and community leaders, scientists, public officials, and educators will attend the black-tie affair. The non-profit’s largest fundraiser benefits the Aquarium’s educational programs, exhibits and displays, and raises over $200,000 annually.

FRIENDS of Cabrillo Marine Aquarium is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization whose mission is to provide support to the educational, scientific and other related activities of Cabrillo Marine Aquarium through various avenues including membership, volunteers and grants.

Cabrillo Marine Aquarium is a facility of the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks. Free Aquarium and tidepool tours are offered to over 150,000 school children and over 300,000 visitors annually. The Aquarium’s staff of scientists, educators, support professionals and volunteers work to increase public awareness, education and concern for the marine environment. Recognized as one of the best teaching aquariums in the world, CMA has a more than 70-year record of innovation and excellence as an important educational resource for the residents and visitors of Los Angeles.
