The first step to good fish portraits is finding the subject. Sand and rocky reefs attract different types of fish. Why not get the best of both worlds? Choose a spot where sand meets rock. Rocks, Reefs and Rips program (3Rs) is a mini-course to familiarize divers with popular beach dive sites and improve beach diving skills. The final session for 2010 will take place October 9 at Nicholas Canyon, northwest Los Angeles County. Instructors will demonstrate and supervise proper surf entry and exit procedures, explain unique aspects of the dive site, and discuss dive condition assessment techniques.
