Two extraordinary evenings of undersea videos will highlight the 11th Annual San Diego UnderSea Film Exhibition, which will be held at Qualcomm Hall’s big screen auditorium in San Diego on Friday and Saturday evenings, September 17 and 18th, 2010. Utilizing a state of the art digital projection system, it promises to be an exciting showcase of digital videos, most of them in high definition, by some of the finest underwater videographers from around the world. A different program will be presented each evening beginning at 7 p.m.
Each evening will feature 15 digital films. Presentations are limited to five minutes each of fast-paced entertainment. Subjects range from sharks to shipwrecks to colorful marine creatures, shot in exotic underwater locales worldwide, as well as in our own backyard. This exhibition is unique in that there are no entry fees and no prizes, except for the prestige of having a film shown.
An independent panel of three distinguished judges has selected the films to be shown. This year’s judges are Andy Sallmon, Shannon Hull, and Bonnie Toth. Each year the bar has been raised in terms of quality and content, and this one will be no exception.
Tickets are available for $15 per evening online at www.sdufex.com. UFEX is incorporated as a 501c3 nonprofit organization. A portion of the proceeds will go to Birch Aquarium and San Diego Oceans Foundation. Previous years’ shows have been sellouts, so get your tickets early. Seating is open, and doors open 30 minutes prior to the show. Parking is free on the Qualcomm campus. Further information is available online at www.sdufex.com.
