In the final heat for constant no fins at the AIDA World Championships, Jana Strain set another Pan American record and claimed a bronze medal with a strong dive to 54M (177 feet), completed in two minutes and thirteen seconds. She broke her own existing Record of 53 meters (174 feet) set in September 7, 2009.
“This was an incredible way to end 2009. Today, I celebrated my birthday and had a wonderful dive. I was slightly concerned during my warm up because one of my ears was very sticky, but I continued with my regular routine knowing that coming up from this dive was going to be easy for me. I was very happy with my performance, I felt confident and very relaxed, taking my time at the bottom plate to ensure I had a perfectly clean performance. I would like to thank Yamamoto, Oceaner and Blueseventy for their support this year.”
